Holly Willoughby admits problem during return to This Morning as she's quizzed by Craig Doyle and says 'bare with me'

Holly Willoughby has joked that she has been 'Glasto'd' as she addressed an obvious problem during her return to This Morning. The presenter was missing from the ITV daytime show on Monday (June 26) as the programme returned to air for the first time this week.

Josie Gibson instead filled in for the star alongside Craig Doyle and while there was no explanation for her day off, which irked some viewers, Craig did confirm that the 42-year-old blonde beauty would be back on screens as normal from Tuesday (June 27) after being spotted sporting a festival-ready look as she boarded a helicopter alongside her husband Dan Baldwin and some pals and jetted to Glastonbury.

As expected, Holly returned to the helm of the show and was quickly asked by Craig what was going on as he spotted a very obvious change to his co-star's voice.

"Hello, good morning and welcome to your Tuesday This Morning," Holly said, getting slightly sheepish as the sentence went on before turning to Craig who was already looking at her suspiciously. "What's going on there?" he asked as Holly pointed to her throat and said: "What this?"

"A bit of a summer cold is it? A bit of summer allergies is it? Probably a bit of pollen..." Craig cheekily pressed before Holly admitted: "I've3 officially been Glasto'd. This is what this voice is. It's always the first thing to go and I blame Elton John for this because, did you see him on Sunday?"

She then went on: "He was so amazing. It was just one of the best things I've seen. The whole weekend was incredible but to finish on this moment... And I sang my socks off and now I sound like this. But honestly, it was just.. I just had the best weekend ever."

Holly explained herself (ITV)

Holly added: "I think I wasn't the only one look, Dermot was with me," as a photo of the pair appeared on the screen. "I think we were watching Blondie at that point who was equally amazing."

She then moved on to chat about Craig's weekend which saw him enjoying a singalong while live on Sky Sports with none other than Hollywood actor Bill Murray who whipped the presenting team into a rendition of Sweet Caroline. "But my voice seems to be fine," Craig mocked after viewers were shown a clip of the moment.

"I know, bare with me," Holly replied as Craig sat smugly alongside her. "I've got lots of hot drinks, I'm going to be fine!" she added. But Holly had already addressed the problem with her social media followers.

Holly also spent some time with fellow This Morning star Dermot O'Leary at the festival (ITV)

Sharing a snap of herself posing in her chosen outfit for her small screen return, which is a tradition of the mum-of-three as she lets her millions of fans and followers know where her outfit is from alongside a backstage snap each day, Holly penned: "Morning Tuesday… see you on @thismorning with @craigadoyle … may be slightly croaky today [frog emoji]. The wonderful @trinnywoodall returns… see you at 10am."

It came after Holly had confirmed that she spent her weekend enjoying the musical extravaganza that is Glatonbry by posting a rare photo of herself and her husband Dan Baldwin, with whom she shares her three children Harry, Belle and Chester, packing on a small but rare PDA.

"Glasto 2023," she simply captioned the photo as she shared it with her 8.3 million followers with a heart emoji. It showed the sun having already gone down on Worthy Farm as one of the trio of headliners took to the stage. Dan stood with his arm around his wife, who was still sporting her festival attire.

With her back to the camera, she could be seen wearing a white crocheted cover-up that had been tied with a black belt to show off her sensational curves which she appeared to be wearing over a black dress before completing her look with a black fedora.
