Holly Willoughby accuses Phillip Schofield of 'betraying her trust' on This Morning

This Morning host Holly Willoughby accused her co-presenter Phillip Schofield of “betraying her trust” live on the show on Tuesday.

Holly was stunned as Phillip prepared to reveal a “secret” about her to viewers.

Guest Vanessa Feltz was discussing the latest phone-in, encouraging viewers to share any secrets or betrayals they were struggling to hide or deal with.

Meanwhile, Holly and Phil were munching on different types of crisps after debating over Britain’s favourite crisp brand.

As the camera panned back to the hosts on the sofa ahead of the next segment, Holly looked a little guilty.

When Phillip spoke to the camera, he suddenly said “erm” with a cheeky grin, before looking behind Holly’s back.

She asked him: “Are you about to betray my trust and tell a secret?”

He replied: “I am because you were over there, you’ve taken a Frazzle and not had time to eat it…”

Holly then protested: “I couldn’t eat it cos I was talking, it’s my job.”

She then joked how she was almost rumbled by a guest, with pooch Bridget smelling the snack when Holly sat down.

The pair laughed off the moment, before Holly ate the crisp super quickly and got on with the show.

Viewers certainly saw the funny side, seeing it as “light relief” amid the ongoing Brexit talks.

This Morning airs weekdays and Sundays at 10:30am on ITV.
