Holly Valance splits from £1billion property tycoon Nick Candy after 13 years

Former Neighbours actress Holly Valance and Reform treasurer Nick Candy have filed for divorce after 13 years of marriage.

Australian-born Holly, 42, and billionaire property tycoon Nick, 52, are understood to have split in recent weeks. The couple, who share two daughters, were last seen together in March dining out in London.

A family friend told The Sun: “This has been a very difficult period for both Nick and Holly, and they are keeping things private out of respect for their family. The joint parenting of their two amazing daughters remains their top priority. They’ve had to juggle a demanding lifestyle. Between family, public life, and Nick’s intense work commitments, it’s been a tough balance. This is a family matter and they’re doing their best to handle things thoughtfully. Privacy is obviously very important to them both, so they can focus on what’s best for the family.”

The couple met in 2009, got engaged two years later, and tied the knot in a lavish £3 million ceremony in California attended by 300 guests, including Simon Cowell.

For Holly, it was a world away from Ramsay Street, the fictional suburb of Neighbours where she found fame playing Felicity “Flick” Scully from 1999 to 2002. After leaving the soap, she moved to the UK and enjoyed chart success with her 2002 debut single “Kiss Kiss,” which reached number one. She later appeared in the 2006 film DOA: Dead or Alive and had a supporting role in the 2008 thriller Taken starring Liam Neeson.

Nick began his career in advertising before he and his brother Christian built a vast property empire, including the £1 billion One Hyde Park development in central London.

Longtime Conservative donors, the brothers amassed an extensive portfolio of luxury developments. Last year, Nick announced he had switched support to Reform and became the party’s treasurer in December, donating a seven-figure sum and tasked with raising millions more.

Nick’s political values have been echoed by Holly, who said last year: “Everyone starts off as a leftie and then wakes up at some point after making money, working, trying to run a business, trying to buy a home, then realises what crap ideas they all are.”

The pair attended Boris Johnson’s wedding to Carrie Symonds in 2021 and accompanied Nigel Farage on a trip to Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida in 2022. Holly is also said to have personally encouraged Farage to stand again for Parliament.

A spokesman for the couple said: “This is a private matter and we will not be making any further comment.”
