Holly Hagan spills on 'secret' Geordie Shore star who was swiftly cut from show

Holly Hagan has revealed all on a 'secret' Geordie Shore cast member as the show marks a decade since its first episode.

It was at the end of May 2011, that the Newcastle-based MTV show first exploded onto TV, with the cast's wild antics immediately dividing opinion and many locals being very vocal with their distain.

But brushing off the criticism from home turf, the show and its cast became an instant success, with record audiences tuning into MTV to see Geordie Shore originals like Holly, Charlotte Crosby and Gaz Beadle party up a storm in the series 1 house in Jesmond and in various Newcastle haunts.

The action moved from Tyneside to Magaluf in the summer of 2011, when the cast headed to the Majorcan party mecca to shoot new episodes and it was there than they were joined by the mysterious ninth cast member - a Scottish girl called Marie.

While the blonde appeared on screen in the Magaluf shows, she was never seen doing any pieces to camera and was quickly erased from Geordie Shore history.

However, she cropped up in conversation when Holly was doing a Q&A about the show on Instagram on Tuesday afternoon.

After a fan asked if it was true that there was a Scottish cast member who was axed, Holly replied: "Yes! Magaluf madness our summer special after series one there was a new girl from Scotland.

"I think they realised they wanted the show's cast to be kept to north east only and just completely cut her from the show.

Scottish girl Marie briefly appeared on Geordie Shore (MTV)

"It was only a two ep special I believe so it wasn't that difficult to do but she's still randomly there in some scenes and no1 (sic) even questioned it when they watched the show at the time."

Holly isn't the first Geordie Shore star to reference Marie, writing in her 2014 autobiography Nothing But The Truth, fellow original Vicky Pattison wrote: "What a lot of people don't know is that a new cast member was brought in in the shape of a Scottish girl called Marie.

"She had long blonde hair, a great body and no personality. She was about as much fun as earache."

"I suspect (producers) thought she may ruffle a few feathers, but she failed to cause even a ripple because she was so dull she was totally edited out."
