Holly Carpenter hits out at creeps bombarding her with ‘disturbing’ explicit images and requests for pictures of her feet online

Holly Carpenter has hit out at creeps bombarding her with ‘disturbing’ explicit images and bizarre requests for pictures of her feet online.

The former Miss Ireland beauty, 29, who has amassed a large following online, boasting almost 100,000 followers on Instagram alone said:

“I've had a number of very interesting interactions with men online.”

Dubbing snapchat the worst in her experience, she went on to explain: “It all started back in 2011 when Snapchat was really big.

“I was getting bombarded with these really explicit photographs.

“I'm sure you can imagine what I’m talking about. I remember telling some of my male friends that it was happening and they thought it was hilarious.

“And I was like ‘It’s not funny because you can’t just unsee what you’ve seen’.

“And you just never know what you’re about to see when you open your phone.”

Speaking on Today with Claire Byrne on RTÉ Radio 1 on Tuesday she said the experiences ended up putting her off the social media app, explaining how she was often left feeling embarrassed and disturbed by the unwanted images.

“Seeing that was kind of disturbing and it really put me off using Snapchat even though at the time, I was using it for my job,” she said.

“I don’t get it so much on Instagram now but I would get very odd requests.”

On the types of ‘requests’ she had been bombarded with, she added:

“From guys asking me for pictures of my feet, asking me for my underwear, asking me to send them nude photos.

"And these are people who I've never met, I don’t know who they are.”

The influencer and media personality said she often finds herself wondering:

“What goes through their head?”

However, she said the age bracket of those often involved is her biggest concern.

“And the worrying thing for me is when it’s younger guys who are about 17.”

The former model and Dancing with the Stars contestant believes the issue has been fuelled by pornography.

“It has to be coming from pornography, in the way that when they’re watching porn, it looks like the woman’s body is designed purely for pleasuring men and for being available to men whenever they want it,” she said.

However, the newly loved up Dubliner, who has recently gone public with her new boyfriend Jamie Hunt has noticed the number of messages have dropped since she is visibly no longer single.
