Holly and Phil promise to be 'professional' after causing This Morning chaos post-NTAs

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield left This Morning viewers divided over their antics on the show on Wednesday after the National Television Awards 2020.

The hosts were accused of being "still drunk" from the ceremony, after they spent the night celebrating their award win.

They did confess to being seriously hungover, even faking a no-show at the start of the show.

Of course they were pranking their fans, but the antics kept coming as both presenters made a number of mistakes with the autocue.

Not only that, but during one live segment they erupted into a fit of giggles.

While some viewers were loving the show and saw the funny side, others slammed them for being "rude" and "unprofessional".

Ahead of the latest episode, a fully recovered Holly and Phil promised to be on their best behaviour.

As Lorraine Kelly handed over to the pair at the end of her own show, they laughed off their antics from the previous day.

Lorraine said to them: "Phil and Holly, they are here. They've recovered."

Phil replied: "It's gonna be a much more professional show today," with Holly adding: "We promise."

He and Holly then looked at each other before shaking their heads and laughing, suggesting their next instalment could be just as chaotic.

It certainly got off to an eventful start, thanks to their competition game Spin To Win.

A caller appeared to swear on air, with Holly and Phil mishearing what she had said.

Then a number of viewers didn't answer their phones, or got the questions wrong.

At one point, Holly threw herself down on the floor in dramatic fashion as chaos unfolded.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
