An elderly woman has been taken to hospital after being involved in a collision with a lorry outside Waitrose on Holloway Road in North London.

The woman, believed to be aged in her 80s, is receiving medical treatment but her condition is not yet known.

The Metropolitan Police were called to the incident, involving a lorry and a female pedestrian, on Monday at around 1.45pm.

Holloway Road is currently closed in both directions following the collision, near the junction with Highbury Corner.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.37pm today (18 October) to reports of a person injured on Holloway Road, N5.

“We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and an advanced paramedic.

“We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“A woman was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital.”

Police say no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
