The Bell Beast is one of the early game bosses that you’ll have to defeat to progress in Hollow Knight Silksong, and it can be tricky to beat.
Hollow Knight Silksong features numerous bosses, each with unique movesets that can be brutally punishing—some are capable of taking you down in just two hits early in the game. One such encounter is the Bell Beast, a fearsome boss that blocks a vital pathway to the next region. To progress, you must first track him down and face him in a challenging showdown. How to find and release the Bell Beast boss in Hollow Knight Silksong
You can find the Bell Beast boss in the Marrow region on the top floor. Once you first find him, you’ll see him stuck in the silk threads, and you won’t be able to break it with your normal attacks, so make your way to the west of the region, past the Shakra NPC. Keep going straight to the top in the Mosshome region after defeating the mobs to reach the platform, where you can bind the Silkspear ability to your needle, which you can use using your silk.
You can equip the ability using the menu under the Crest screen. Once you’re done, it’s time to head back to the Bell Beast, and you can just use the ability once to break the skill threads and unleash the boss for the showdown.
How to defeat the Bell Beast boss in Hollow Knight Silksong
After the silk threads are broken, the Bell Beast comes swinging with two main attacks. One is where the boss charges you head-on, and you’ll have to dodge it by jumping and landing in the opposite direction, and the other one is where it jumps from one side to another and stops briefly before going underground in the bells again. This is your best moment to strike, and you can use your Silkspear ability and your regular attack while dodging everything else.
We recommend that you stay in the center because it gives enough leeway to jump over his attacks and quickly attack him when he jumps to a side. However, you’ll have to change your strategy in the second phase, when the boss throws two huge molten bells, which travel toward the side, and you’ll need to jump and dodge them to avoid taking damage.
The floor is made of bells, making it easy for you to understand where the boss will emerge next, using the vibration animation on the surface. So use this information to prepare your strategy or dodge his attacks. The last stage is when the boss drops bells from the ceiling, but you’ll also see a bright light on the top before the bell drops, so if you’re not standing directly under it, you should be good.
Lastly, don’t panic as the boss hits hard and use your heals when you get hit, otherwise you’ll become a cocoon and have to start the fight again. Keep your calm and chip away at the damage while focusing mainly on dodging the bells, and you should defeat the beast.
