When millions long for summer holidays abroad a way should be found to give them the green light while protecting the country from Covid-19.
Quarantine-free travel from amber list destinations such as Spain and Greece for the fully vaccinated would benefit holidaymakers and save tens of thousands of travel jobs.
Few returning from the amber list are testing positive at the moment, providing evidence the threat may no longer be as grave as feared when the double-jabbed are both safeguarded and less likely to transmit the virus.
If jabs become a passport to go abroad and attend events such as music festivals people would be incentivised to get vaccinated.

How time flies
It is scarcely believable but Wednesday is the fifth anniversary of the momentous vote for the UK to quit the European Union.

Yet rehearsing old arguments, reopening wounds still sore, would achieve little. People are better together than continually feuding.
