Holidaymakers will splash cash for all-inclusive luxury once Covid testing ends

The popularity of all-inclusive holidays is surging with families willing to pay extra for the option.

Upgraded accommodation is also proving popular with travellers wanting something special after not finding it easy to travel abroad since the start of the pandemic.

Confidence is growing among UK families that travel for summer 2022 will be getting back to something like normal with many waiting until current testing rules are lifted before committing to travel and booking well-earned breaks overseas.

Luxury travel specialist Sovereign suggests bookings for summer 2022 are already performing strongly as people finally feel confident to plan further ahead.

Some 30 per cent more bookings have been made against the same point in 2019 showing that customers want to be able to take their long-awaited holidays to spend time with their loved ones.

The travel firm suggests customers are treating themselves to all-inclusive options or upgraded rooms with Greece, the Balearics and Canary Islands looking popular.

IKOS Andalusia opened in September 2021 and advance bookings for early spring are strong with the hotel performing well.

Another new opening, the adults-only Domes Miramare, in Corfu, is a popular choice among couples looking to treat themselves to time away from their children. A seven night stay starts at £710 per person with flights, transfers and breakfast daily.

It has also released long-haul deals ahead of the festive break.

A five-night stay at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa is priced from £1,275 per person with breakfast daily and flights from Heathrow based on a family of four travelling on December 21.

A seven-night stay at the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort is priced from £1,560 per person with flights from Heathrow based on a family of four travelling on a room only basis on December 20.
