A coin expert has shared some of the most expensive euro coins that might just be hiding away in your drawer.
Many might not think much of the holiday money that they have laying around, after all, it only gets used once every so often.
However, TikTok creator Matteo Corona, posting under the username @numismatics360, revealed that euro coins can be highly valuable.
In a clip titled "Rarest euro coins" he showed off the three two euro pieces that could fetch hundreds, or even thousands.
The first coin is a two euro piece from 2006, and commemorated 500 years of the Vatican's Swiss Guard. Mateo said that it could be worth €230 - although there's one currently listed on eBay for £239.02.
The second coin was also a two euro piece from the Vatican, celebrating 20 years of World Youth Day in Cologne, Italy. The expert said that it could be worth €300.
The final and most valuable coin was the two euro coin of Grace Kelly, the American actress who became Princess of Monaco. The coin was released after her passing and features her profile.
There were only 20,001 minted and Mateo claims they could be worth up to €5,000. One person has listed the 2007 coin on eBay for £4,550.
Keep in mind, just because you have one of these coins doesn't mean you'll receive their full sum. The condition matters so if yours is in tatters it may fetch a reduced sum.
The clip has received over 800,000 views and TikTok users have taken to the comments with many complaining that they missed the opportunity to sell one of these valuable coins.
One commenter wrote: "me going to check every 2€ I got," While another added: "NOOOO I HAD THE MONACO I REMEMBER."
A third stated: "from now on I will check the 2coins that pass in my palm."
