Holidaymakers horrified after Starbucks staff drench them with coffee at Dublin Airport

Two passengers' flights got off to a nightmare start after they were drenched with coffee by horse-playing staff of a cafe in Dublin Airport.

The two travellers were in Starbucks in Terminal 1 when they were soaked by staff who were throwing coffee at each other.

The horrified holidaymakers took to social media to express their disgust after the cafe workers ruined their clothes before their flights, Dublin Live reports.

Johanna O'Brien tweeted: "Just had an unbelievable experience in Dublin airport.

"Staff throwing coffee at each other and soaked me before a flight. My clothes are ruined and not even an apology!"

Louth County Councillor John McGahon was also caught in the careless staff's crossfire.

Sharing a picture of his coffee-stained clothes, he said: "That was me also, currently sitting on my flight for the next three hours with coffee stains."

A spokeswoman for the Dublin Airport Authority confirmed they have been in touch with with Starbucks in relation to the incident.

She said: "SSP Group operates the Starbucks outlet in Terminal 1.

"We have sought further information from the customers in question via social media and have already been in touch with SSP Group regarding this incident, which is not in keeping with the customer service ethos of SSP, Starbucks or Dublin Airport. SSP is currently dealing with this issue."

Dublin Live has contacted Starbucks Ireland for comment.
