Holidaying PM drops into the Shoalhaven Heads Hotel

Prime Minister Scott Morrison appears to be enjoying the laidback vibe of the South Coast on his week's holiday.

He paid a visit to the Shoalhaven Heads Hotel yesterday, according to a post on the pub's Facebook page.

Keen not to make the same mistake he made during the bushfire crisis in late 2019, when he quietly slipped out of the country for that infamous Hawaii holiday, the PM made known his intention to take a break well ahead of time.

He is no stranger to Shoalhaven Heads, having stayed there over Christmas in 2018, and returning early 2019 for the pub's big charity day.

Manager Leslee Maddinson, who is cricketer Nic Maddinson's mother, said she wasn't on duty when the PM showed up.

"But from what I've been told he got a reasonably good reception," she said.

The visit came in the midst of a pretty busy holiday season for the pub and the town generally, both popular with people from the Sutherland Shire.

"We tend to get a lot of people from around there," Leslee said.

"We've been as full as we can be with COVID restrictions."
