It’s not sexy, we know, but a kitchen (and everything that comes out of it) will go downhill fast if the room is not in tip-top condition. That means keeping it neat and tidy.
With the right supplies, it doesn’t have to feel like a chore, though. And sometimes getting sophisticated tools or high-tech appliances to help with the cleaning will make it downright fun...or at least, not so bad!

While I was a bit on the fence about including a $300 broom in a gift guide, if we can’t splurge on the people we love on the holidays, when can we? This broom is not only beautiful but just a great broom, made using an 1890s broom machine, with a natural maple handle and bristles or take it dark with the ebonized Oak with black-dyed bristles. (There’s also a feather duster from the same line that is incredible!)
Clean & Pure Goat Milk Soap
Everyone keeps hand soap in their kitchen, but doesn’t it all feel a lot more elegant when the soap is luxurious? This is the best soap we’ve had in our own home in a long time ($17 for a 3-pack), made with goat milk, coconut oil, shea butter, and so much good stuff. They’ll have the smoothest hands around as they serve the holiday meal!
yeedi Vac Station Robot Vacuum and Mop
There’s probably no home appliance more useful and, well, cool, than the robot vacuum. It cleans your home and you don’t even have to do anything. The yeedi ($500) is smart. It can do the vacuuming and mopping at the same time, has a self-emptying station, and even has an intuitive carpet-detecting system to make sure it vacuums but not mops the carpet. That’s more than we can say for some humans we know!

A hostess loves to look her best while hosting, which isn’t so easy if she’s also in the kitchen. Whether hosting a dinner party or wanting to look like a home chef on Zoom, a great apron is an essential. This beautifully crafted, vintage-inspired apron ($60) is classic, comfortable, and useful as you work your way around the kitchen.
BLACK + DECKER Dustbuster
No one wants crumbs in their kitchen and this dustbuster can nip the problem in the bud because it starts to attract bugs and rodents. It is a slim, cordless handheld vacuum ($50) that is small but mighty and easy to stash in the cabinet, or anywhere else convenient between uses. This is perfect if they have a space not quite big enough for a full-sized vacuum but need something powerful and handy.
AspenClean Natural Kitchen Cleaner
No one wants a bunch of harsh chemicals in their kitchen, and any time it can be avoided and still be effectively clean, we’re all over it. AspenClean's Natural Kitchen Cleaner ($9) is all natural and made with ingredients like organic bergamot and grapefruit essential oils. It is meant to work best on grease, so it’ll be great in their ovens and on their grills.
Humble Suds Scour Cleaning Paste
This whipped paste ($12) has a lot of scouring power, but it’s not abrasive, meaning it won’t scuff and scratch what it comes in contact with. That makes it safe to use with your bare hands, whether it is cleaning the sink, oven, or even some tough produce. Having everything sanitary, clean and free of odors. It should look like you are eating off it (because you are!)

Moths are disgusting, and seeing them in the pantry can be a disaster, especially if people have loaded up on food and supplies in advance of the holidays.
