Holiday, Dunn fuel Bulls' 123-120 victory vs. Hornets

CHICAGO _ Something had to give Friday when the Bulls faced the Hornets at the United Center.

Both teams had lost five in a row, with the Bulls falling by an average of 25.7 in their last three.

Turned out the Bulls gave a little more, thanks Justin Holiday and Kris Dunn, during the team's 123-120 victory.

Holiday scored a team-high 27 points in his first game since his wife gave birth to their first child, a daughter, earlier this week. Dunn added a career-high 22 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, to go with seven assists and five rebounds off the bench.

Denzel Valentine scored 18 and had six assists and five rebounds for the Bulls in his second career start.

The Bulls survived 47 points from Kemba Walker, who had a chance to put the Hornets ahead with three seconds left but was defended well by Lauri Markkanen, who scored the final two of his 16 points from the free-throw line with two seconds left. He also had seven rebounds and was one of five Bulls to score in double figures.

The Bulls moved to 3-10, while the Hornets fell to 5-9.
