Holi 2019 in pictures: Hindus celebrate Indian Festival of Colours

Colour is flooding the air across the Hindu world as the Holi festival begins.

Hindus will mark the arrival of spring by taking to the streets and covering each other in colourful powder.

Celebrations commence with bonfires for Holika Dahan on the eve of the festival and continue with Rangwali Holi the following morning.

The festival is celebrated around the world but primarily in Nepal and India.
