Hole-in-one glory of Wishaw Golf Club Senior Open winner

Mick McKeever is celebrating after hitting a hole-in-one on his way to claiming Wishaw Golf Club Senior Open recently.

He claimed victory with a fantastic net score of 62, which included a superb hole-in-one on the 11th hole.

Over 130 players took part in the competition, with 40 of those involved representing other clubs.

But Wishaw GC member Mick ensured the trophy is staying in the town thanks to his superb round. He received his trophy from the club’s 65s captain Allan Joyce.

Meanwhile, the scratch prize was also won by a home player, with Wishaw member Billy Denholm recording a superb round of 72 to take the title.

A Wishaw GC spokesman said: “A big well done to our winners.

“All commented on the superb condition of the course and the greens in particular.

“Thanks must go to Gerry Bradley and greenkeeper staff.”
