'Hold on to your hat hinny': Little Mix stars write moving letters to their younger selves

Superstar girl group Little Mix have shared emotional letters written to their younger selves the night they won X Factor.

The band , who shot to fame in 2011, penned the letters in an interview with Bustle UK’s music issue Noisemakers about how much their lives would change.

South Shields -born Jade Thirlwall even told her young self to not worry about missing drunken nights out on the Toon because she was going to make such good friends.

Jade , 26, said: "Growing into a woman in Little Mix isn’t going to be straightforward, and you’re going to wonder more than once what it would have been like to have just one year of freedom before making a career out of things.

"But, missing out on those drunken nights won’t seem like such a big deal in the long run, and you can be sure the friends you’ve made will last longer than any bar crawl the Toon could give you."

She also told herself not to let the "old blokes at the label" fob her off and that it would be easy to get sucked in by all the pressure.

Jade adds: "You have a squad of amazing women around you, so trust me when I say, Jade, man, you don’t need to worry so much - it’ll all come off in the end.

"And remember, you’re at your most successful when the decisions come from you, so don’t be afraid to use your voice."

She also poked fun at herself by saying she'd be laughing at her outfits in 10 years' time.

Perrie Edwards , also from South Shields, told her young self: "Hold on to your hat hinny, because it'll be a bumpy ride.

"The ups and downs will be mad. It’s basically like a roller coaster of emotions. There’s enough material there for a life story - you don’t have the actual footage, but you’ll remember it all in your mind.

"And for the record, when it comes to casting, I’d like Margot Robbie to play me, please."

The 25-year-old also praised her band members, writing: "Think back to that first group you were in with Jesy. Thank God you found your girls.

"Those nights where you go to each other's house, and watch movies like Spice World.

" You’ll become much older and wiser. But trust yourself, and your girls, and you’ll make it through."

Fellow member Leigh-Anne Pinnock revealed that they thought they would get dropped after their second album and hit single Black Magic saved their career.

Jesy Nelson wrote that, although there would be times when they would annoy each other, it was "real friendship".

She added: "Just get in your little huddle backstage, tell each other you love each other, and that you're going to smash it."
