'Hola' to Spanish hat-trick as play specialist builds home and away

The first half of 2019 has brought expansion home and away for natural playground design company Newby Leisure.

A third international school contract has been secured in Spain, while the Humberston business park base on the outskirts of Grimsby has been dramatically overhauled to create a more established headquarters.

Directors and brothers Neil and Alastair Newby are looking forward to completing the Malaga project, building on work in Barcelona and Madrid.

Neil said: “When we received the call from the British School of Barcelona – our first European contract – we knew it would be a very exciting opportunity, so pursuing it was an easy decision. Since then, we have designed playgrounds in Madrid and currently now Malaga. We’re really grateful for these opportunities.

“Thankfully, we’re in a position where the company has grown over the years to service these schemes.

"A big thank you for this goes to the many schools in the UK we have had the pleasure of working with, enabling us to continue building exciting playground designs, to develop education and outdoor learning.”

March saw local trade partners, teachers and family attended the opening.

Alastair Newby said: “It really is great to use so many local trade partners along with their materials and knowledge.

"Building lasting relationships is important to us, helping us to fulfill many playground schemes, with fantastic materials that we feel offer longevity to our work.

“We pride ourselves on quality and every playground we design and install is made to last.”

With more exciting plans in the pipeline, there are many opportunities heading the company’s way, including the roll-out of e-commerce, allowing the hand-crafted timber resources designed for schools, nurseries, play groups and domestic gardens to be purchased.
