Hogwarts Legacy: How to get money fast

Some of the best items and gear in Hogwarts Legacy are available in the shops in Hogsmeade, and you’ll need a lot of gold to pick them up. From potion recipes and brooms, to upgrades, and gear, you’ll need your galleons if you want to progress through the main story. Luckily, it’s not too difficult to earn money in Hogwarts Legacy as it drops from every foe you beat. But if you want to buy everything, you’ll need to earn money a bit faster.

Here’s everything you need to know to make money quickly in Hogwarts Legacy.

Eyeball chests

There are eyeball chests all over Hogwarts. You can find them inside houses, shops, in the school, caves, and forests. They won’t open unless you are invisible, but you can learn the spell early on, and brew invisibility potions later for better effects. Almost all eyeball chests contain 500 gold, which is quite a lot of money.

Beast market

Once you have access to the Room of Requirement and have fit it out with a number of vivariums, you can start catching beasts. While these sell for a good amount by themselves, you can also breed them to create a never-ending income. These beasts can be sold at Brood and Peck in Hogsmeade, and will leave you with quite a bit of extra cash.

Gear collection

There is a lot of gear to pick up as you explore Hogwarts Legacy, and you only have limited space in your inventory. If you like the look of a certain item you don’t have to worry about selling it, as the appearance of each piece is saved in your menu. Almost any vendor will buy gear off you, and they all give you pretty much the same price. Remember to often sell any gear you have that is worse than your main set at any nearby shop.

Start your own shop

When you progress far enough through the game, you will find a side quest that allows you to open up your own shop. You can sell items here for 10% more than any other shop in the game will sell them for. As soon as you unlock this option make sure that you sell all of your items here. You will pick up a lot of extra items as you explore so all of the 10% increases will add up.
