The Sony PS5 Showcase Event which took place on September 16 revealed many different features to get gamers excited.
One notable mention coming from the presentation was the release of the 'Hogwart's Legacy Trailer'.
After years of speculation, Warner Bros Games/ Portkey Games officially announced Hogwarts Legacy, and open-world RPG set in the Harry Potter Universe
Described as an "immersive, open-world action-RPG where you can create your own wizard and master a variety of spells," the game has been received with much anticipation around the world.
The game is set to take place in the late 1800s, approximately 100 years before the events of the Harry Potter series.
However the near 3-minute trailer features lots of familiar places including Hogsmeade, The Great Hall, and The Potions Classroom.
Players will get the chance to take on the role of a witch or wizard in one of the four Hogwarts Houses and learn new spells and skills.
Of course it won't just be a regular Hogwarts experience as the trailer shows players battling magical creatures, going on adventures and uncovering the hidden truth of the wizarding world.
Adrian Ropp, head of story at Avalanche Studios spoke about how the game will make use of the PS5’s graphical power and DualSense controller features.
“With innovative high definition graphics, a player can practically feel the terror of Inferi bearing down upon them, sense the ground rumbling beneath them as a herd of angry centaurs surrounds them,” he said.
"Even duelling against a deadly dark witch takes on a new level of realism thanks to the controller’s ability to imbue sound and touch into every moment.”
Many gamers feel Sony has come out on top of the console fight this season by confirming their products will be available in November.
The flagship PS5 will be available in the UK from November 19 and will set you back £449, while the digital edition without a disc drive will cost £359.
After the Sony event it was revealed that Hogwarts Legacy will also be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Other new games to be released on the console included including Final Fantasy XVI, Spider Man: Miles Morales and Oddworld Soulstorm.
