Disney+ has finally released a trailer for Hocus Pocus 2 which is due to hit the streaming platform later this year

The eagerly-awaited sequel sees Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy reprise their roles of the Saunderson sisters almost three decades after the release of the original movie.

In the trailer, fans get their first glimpse of the trio after they are accidentally brought back to modern-day Salem by three teenagers practising witchcraft.

It is then down to the teens to stop the child-eating sisters from running amok around town like in the first flick.

Taking on the role of the teens are Whitney Peak from Gossip Girl, Lilia Buckingham and Belissa Escobedo.

The cast also includes Tony Hale (Arrested Development and Veep), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso and Game of Thrones) and comedian Sam Richardson (Veep), plus,Doug Jones who is reprising his role as Billy Butcherson from the first film.

I don’t have a lot of memories. I mean, I remember the filming of it. I just don’t remember what the movie’s about as much. Three witches, I’ve been told that, and apparently my character’s not very bright. But I fly and sing and I think I like to suck the life … I think I like to kill children? I liked making the movie and I liked flying.

The original Hocus Pocus flopped when it was released in cinemas in 1993 and only found a cult following after it was released on VHS.

Parker, who was yet to find huge fame as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City even admitted that she didn’t remember much about making the movie.

Speaking to Stephen Colbert in 2018, she said: “I don’t have a lot of memories. I mean, I remember the filming of it. I just don’t remember what the movie’s about as much. Three witches, I’ve been told that, and apparently my character’s not very bright. But I fly and sing and I think I like to suck the life … I think I like to kill children?
