Hocus Pocus 2 is finally confirmed - with a killer cast joining Sanderson Sisters

Hocus Pocus 2 is returning soon, with some famous faces joining in the latest mischievous plans of the Sanderson sisters.

The beloved 1993 movie, starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, has become a Halloween favourite.

It followed the evil witchy trio’s attempts to gain eternal youth - killing anyone in their way and sucking the life out of their victims before they’re caught.

After teen Max accidentally resurrected them from their grave by lighting the black flame candle, they were on the rampage against the town who killed them 300 years ago.

It eventually fell to Max, his crush Allison, plus Max’s little sister Dani, to stop them in their tracks before they exacted revenge on the entire town.

While it’s been 28 years since the film first launched, it remains a classic - and after long-held rumours about their return. It’s finally been confirmed.

Rather than a remake, Hocus Pocus 2 will be a continuation of the story that started in the original movie.

At the end of the first film, the Sandersons' ‘grimoire’ (book of spells) was seen still alive, with the eye on the front coming open - suggesting their curse could continue.

Who is in the new cast of Hocus Pocus 2?

Bette, Sarah and Kathy will return as Winifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson.

Doug Jones, who played Billy Butcherson, has also been confirmed to come back. Billy was a former lover of Winifred, who was resurrected as a zombie in the first movie.

Rather than reunite with Winnie, he joined Max, Allison and Dani in an effort to take her down.

But there are also some new faces in the cast - and they’re sure to leave you spellbound.

Top of the list is Hannah Waddingham, star of the acclaimed Ted Lasso, who previously appeared on Game Of Thrones.

Veep and Arrested Development star Tony Hale, and Veep’s Sam Richardson are also newly announced cast members.

Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lilia Buckingham (Zoe Valentine), Belissa Escobedo (The Baker and the Beauty), Juju Brener (Vanquish), Froy Gutierrez (Teen Wolf), Taylor Henderson (Earwig and the Witch) and Nina Kitchen complete the new line-up.

However, their roles are currently being kept under wraps, with few details being spilled by Disney.

Hocus Pocus 2 will launch on Disney+.
