Hoaxed ex-college DB Juantarius Bryant to attend tryout camp

The former college football defensive back from Austin Peay, Juantarius Bryant, will get a chance at his NFL dream … kind of.

Bryant, who was turned away from Atlanta Falcons rookie camp last week after believing the team had invited him for a tryout, has been invited to the HUB Football tryout in San Diego on May 23.

Bryant believed he had been invited to the Falcons’ camp via a text from defensive coordinator Dean Pees. The text was sent from a “404,” which is the area code for Atlanta and its closest suburbs.

Bryant became a first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference defensive back by his senior season in 2019 after making 107 tackles (2.5 for loss). In his career, he played in 43 games for Austin Peay with 242 tackles, three forced fumbles, and an interception.
