Music store chain HMV is opening its latest branch in the West Midlands next week.
The 4,500 sq ft store will launch on Tuesday in the former Cotswold Outdoor unit in Solihull's Mell Square complex which has created eight new jobs.
The move will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the retailer which opened its first ever shop in London's Oxford Street on July 20, 1921.
HMV closed down its previous store in the town, also in Mell Square, in 2019 after failing to strike a deal with its landlord over its lease.
Cllr Ian Courts, leader of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council which acquired the shopping precinct in April, said "It's great that such a well-known brand as HMV is returning to Mell Square with a new store.
"It shows that Solihull is still a good place to do business, remains attractive to retailers and I am confident they will not be the last to invest in the town.
"It also seems auspicious that the store will open on HMV's 100th birthday.
"I wish them and their new staff all the best for this new venture and look forward to other retailers joining them in the future."
