HMV set to open doors of new Dublin store this Friday

HMV are set to open their new Dublin store on Friday.

And the first 150 customers to make a purchase at Henry Street will receive a goodie bag full of Kenji or Funko products. With over 15,000 products on offer split over three floors, this will be the first flagship store for the brand outside of the UK, and will be creating 25 new jobs.

Some of the things customers can expect in store include 5,000 vinyl albums, 5,500 CD's and different music technology products. There will also be over 3,000 products across franchises such as Stranger Things, Pokémon, Star Wars, Marvel and DC.

With over 1,000 different T-shirt designs and a two for €50 vinyl offer there is something for everyone at this new store. HMV Managing Director for UK and Ireland Phil Halliday said: “HMV has a rich history in Dublin and we’re hugely excited it is the first destination for our overseas expansion."

The store also boosts an impressive purpose-built performance space for signings and performances from both established international artists and grassroots local bands. Local musicians and bands who are interested in using the space are encouraged to contact the store through their Live & Local programme.

Store manager Paul Stevens said: “Nothing beats discovering new music and pop culture products by browsing in a store filled with expert, knowledgeable staff. We’re thrilled to be back in the heart of Dublin, and I can’t wait to start programming brilliant live entertainment and discover a new generation of acts.”

There is set to be an exciting announcement about four events happening with the Live & Local programme on July 1 which will be announced on the HMV Henry Street Instagram. The store is set to open at 10am on Friday morning.

The current opening hours of the store are as follows:

  • Monday to Wednesday – 9am to 7pm
  • Thursday – 9am to 8pm
  • Friday to Saturday - 9am to 7pm
  • Sunday - 11am to 7pm
