HMS Prince of Wales: Tickets for Liverpool visit have now all gone

All tickets to board the HMS Prince of Wales during its visit to Liverpool later this month have now gone.

The free tickets went online at 10am and were snapped up within an hour.

The second of the UK's new aircraft carriers will visit Liverpool on February 28.

Tickets for 50 sessions, in 15-minute time slots, were available to board the ship on Saturday, February 29 and Sunday, March 1.

However, tickets for all sessions have now gone.

This is the first time one of the new aircraft carriers has officially been open to visitors.

Liverpool's deputy mayor and cabinet member for culture, tourism and events, Cllr Wendy Simon, said: "Following last week's announcement, there has been a real buzz around the arrival of HMS Prince of Wales.

"For many, it will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to board a warship of this scale, and it makes it even more special that it is affiliated with Liverpool.

People without a ticket can still view the ship at the Liverpool Cruise Terminal from public areas such as Princes Parade.

Exact timings for the ship's arrival in Liverpool will be announced in due course, dependent on weather conditions and operational commitments.
