HMS Prince of Wales: Get impressive view of Royal Navy warship on special river cruise

HMS Prince of Wales is arriving into Liverpool next week and there’s a way to see the Royal Navy Aircraft Carrier up close.

Tickets to go on board the ship were quickly snapped up last week, leaving many people disappointed, but there’s still a way to see the huge warship in all its glory.

The ship is one of the most powerful ever constructed in the UK and - along with her sister ship HMS Queen Elizabeth - the largest ever built for the Royal Navy.

The ship’s flight deck has enough space to fit three football pitches, measuring an enormous 280 metres long by 70 metres wide.

During its visit to Liverpool, River Explorer Cruises will give passengers impressive views of the aircraft carrier while it is docked in the Mersey.

On Saturday, February 29 and Sunday, March 1, it will be running cruises from 10am to 4pm. A Blue Badge guide will be onboard to provide live commentary about the unique history of the Mersey and the HMS Prince of Wales.

On Sunday, March 1 there will also be a special viewing cruise, to celebrate the warship’s visit to the city. This cruise will depart from the Pier Head, Woodside and the Seacombe terminals before taking guests on a two hour tour of the waterfront.

This cruise will also feature a Blue Badge Guide and live music from local performers.
