HMS Prince of Wales departure time from Liverpool

The HMS Prince of Wales will depart from Liverpool this week after welcoming visitors on board for the very first time at the weekend.

The Royal Navy's aircraft carrier arrived in the city last Friday from Portsmouth Naval Base a week-long stay.

Thousands of people with free tickets were invited on board to see the ship up close on Saturday and Sunday.

Guests were greeted by Royal Navy staff and crew all dressed in their finery and were on hand to answer questions and learn about the ship's mission.

The 65,000 warship is still docked at Liverpool Cruise Terminal and thousands more are expected to head down to Princes Parade to have a look before she leaves.

What time does HMS Prince of Wales leave Liverpool

The Royal Navy would not give an exact timing for the ship's departure but has confirmed that it is expected to sail on Friday afternoon (March 6).

However, giving guidance in a notice to mariners, Peel Ports state that the ship is leaving at 3.45pm.

As it is a working Naval ship, there may be a need for the vessel to leave early – this is currently not planned, but if you are wanting to see the ship probably best to get down there sooner rather than later as this could be a possibility.

There is no planned show or fireworks for its departure.
