HMRC employee gets trapped in his basement for six days with no food or water

A man survived for six days without food and water after becoming stuck in his basement.

He was rescued after his workmates, fearing for his welfare, visited his home in Liverpool twice looking for him.

The man, aged in his 50s, had become trapped after he fell and found himself unable to move.

His concerned colleagues from HM Revenue & Customs paid two visits to his home and alerted the police when they heard him shouting inside.
