- Adam Hall, 43, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 23 years for deliberately infecting sexual partners with HIV and raping some of his victims.
- Hall, from Washington, Tyne and Wear, was convicted of five counts of rape and seven counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, becoming only the second person in the UK convicted of intentional HIV transmission.
- Diagnosed with HIV in 2010, Hall failed to adhere to his medication from 2016, making him infectious, yet he continued to have unprotected sex with men between 2016 and 2023 without disclosing his status.
- The Crown Prosecution Service stated that Hall was fully aware of the risks and intentionally caused harmful lifelong consequences to his victims, praising their bravery in coming forward.
- Detectives are appealing for information from other potential victims, as Hall travelled to various parts of the country, including County Durham, Manchester, and London, to meet men.
