Hit comedy show comes to Lanarkshire this weekend

A hit show based on two of the country's most loved comedy characters is coming to East Kilbride this weekend.

Following on from the success of The Francie and Josie Show which toured Scotland for five successful years – The Producers are back with The Francie and Josie Sketchbook.

The much-loved Glasgow characters return by popular demand with another nod to nostalgia as they open up the archives with a show full of fantastic comedy sketches, routines and songs starring Scottish variety and pantomime favourites - Liam Dolan as Francie and Johnny Mac as Josie.

Both Liam and Johnny grew up watching the original Francie and Josie.

They decided to perform as the famous duo to raise funds so the local youth theatre they both attended could take a trip to the Edinburgh Festival.

They wrote to Rikki Fulton to ask permission, not only did they receive a reply they also received Rikki Fulton's blessing.

And the blessings will continue during the tour, as Johnny Mac dons the Dog collar to resurrect the “Reverend I M Jolly”.

This is the only time in his career that he has ever seen a solo chair get a round of applause as the audience are waiting in anticipation!

The Francie and Josie Sketchbook guarantees a trip down memory lane that will leave you feeling “La-Di-Da-Di-Da”.

Curtains will go up at the Village Theatre tomorrow (Saturday) at 7.30pm having played tonight at Motherwell Civic Theatre.
