Hit and run smash leaves two trapped inside flipped car on Leeds roundabout

Police are on the hunt for a driver who fled the scene of a crash in Leeds this afternoon which saw a car flip onto its side on a major roundabout.

Two vehicles collided on the Crossgates roundabout at around 2:15pm this afternoon outside the New Travellers Rest pub where the A6120 Outer Ring Road meets Crossgates Road.

A white Fiat Panda was left on its side on the carriageway - but the other vehicle involved in the incident sped away.

A fire crew from Killingbeck arrived at the scene within minutes and rescued two people who were trapped inside the Fiat.

They were then handed over to paramedics at the scene for treatment, although their injuries are not thought to be serious.

A number of bus services were diverted while emergency services dealt with the crash, but the road reopened at around 3pm.
