Hit-and-run murder bid sees car ploughed into man on Glasgow street

A man was 'deliberately' knocked down in Glasgow in what police are treated as an attempted murder.

A 29-year-old man was found seriously injured after being struck by a car at the junction of Hollybank Street and Kintyre Street around 6.25pm on Monday March 8.

The car then made off along Kintyre Street and then towards Royston Road.

Emergency services rushed the victim to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment on serious injuries.

Officers are now treating the incident as attempted murder, believing the driver to have hit the pedestrian on purpose.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Palmer of Maryhill Police Station said: "Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

"We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage or private CCTV from the area to get in touch.

"Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101 and quoting incident 2635 of 8 March or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
