Hit-and-run car that struck puppy before pet died traced by cops

Detectives investigating a hit-and-run in Grangemouth leaving an eight month old puppy dead have traced the car and its driver.

Little Moca the German Shepard was struck at Inchyra Roundabout, just off the A904 at around 11:10pm on Friday night.

The accident has left her family and members of the community devastated.

Officers are continuing to appeal for information and ask anyone who was in the area at the time and might have heard or seen anything to get in touch.

They also want dashcam footage of the collision.

The driver of the car has been released pending further enquiries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of an incident where a dog was struck by a car at Inchyra Roundabout in Grangemouth around 11.10pm on Friday, 19 February.

"The vehicle did not stop at the scene and the dog has since succumbed to its injuries.

"The car and driver have now been identified and enquiries are ongoing.”
