'Hit and miss but plenty of fight' - Player ratings as Bristol Rovers draw with Coventry City

Jack Bonham - 7

Started off nervously, twice dropping balls that he should have held, but he improved substantially and pulled off a brilliant save to keep the scores level with 15 minutes left as he clawed Tom Davies' goal-bound header away.

James Clarke - 7

Dealt well with the dangerous Jordy Hiwula in a solid display. Did not really have much of an opportunity to get forward but did his job well.

Tom Lockyer - 7

Produced a brilliant tackle to deny Amadou Bakayoko in the last 10 minutes to top off a good performance defensively.

Tony Craig - 7

Linked up well with Lockyer and kept a cool head when under pressure, winning a number of headers that came his way.

Michael Kelly - 6

Struggled a little defensively, selling himself too often in the tackle against tricky wingers. Looked a little nervy on the ball at times, too, but he improved as the game went on.

Bristol Rovers move point closer to safety in scrappy Coventry City draw

Stuart Sinclair - 7

Battled well throughout his time on the pitch and put some nice passes in. Was the one Rovers midfielder who really made an impact in the final third, too. Aside from a couple of misplaced passes, this was a good performance.

Ed Upson - 6

A hit-and-miss performance. Put in some very good tackles, but was guilty of giving the ball away too often, wasting some good set pieces with poor delivery.

Abu Ogogo - 6

A quiet return to his former club - he won the ball back well at times, but he was not at his influential best.

Liam Sercombe - 5

It was a poor display from Sercombe, who gave the ball away too often as he seemed to struggle on a poor Ricoh pitch. Like Upson, his set-piece delivery was poor, but he also was beaten too often in defensive positions when the Gas were on the back foot.

The cruel (but hilarious) prank played on this Bristol Rovers fan's stag do that Bristol City fans will love

Gavin Reilly - 7

Did not really get much of a sight of goal, but he ran the channels well and also held the ball up nicely. A bright performance, although he faded slightly in the second half.

Jonson Clarke-Harris - 7

While he did not find the net, it was a good display from the striker against his old club. He held the ball up superbly and also ran the channels. Did not have much of a sight of goal but gave the Gas a foothold up front when they were on the back foot.

Substitutes

Tom Nichols (for Sinclair, 68) - 7

Played one superb pass over the top for Clarke-Harris late on and also saw a shot well saved by Lee Burge.

Alex Jakubiak (for Reilly, 68) - 7

Looked bright when he came on, running at the defence and putting them on the back foot with his pace. Still needs more of an end product, though.

Alfie Kilgour (for Sercombe, 90+7) - N/A
