History suggests pick No. 21 could be promising for Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks currently have the No. 21 overall selection in the NFL draft. The expectation is they will likely trade down, which makes sense considering Seattle only has four total picks in this year’s draft.

However, should Seattle decide to use the pick, there is a lot of history suggesting that they could find an impact player at that spot.

22 players who have been selected 21st overall have made at least one Pro Bowl, led by current Falcons center Alex Mack (2009) and Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss (1998) with six apiece.

The group also features Hall of Famer Lynn Swan and a handful of current NFL stars, including defensive end Chandler Jones, tight ends Jermaine Gresham and Tyler Eifert, and defensive backs Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Reggie Nelson.

While none of this proves that Seattle will get a budding star if they use the selection, it does show that there is plenty of talent to go around at that point in the draft.

Seattle, if they use the pick, will only be doing so for the second time in franchise history. The first was in 1996, when they selected left guard Pete Kendall. Kendall had a solid 13-year career, making 188 starts for four different teams.
