History on Georgia’s side after win over Tennessee

The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Tennessee Volunteers 43-14 Saturday, though it wasn’t as easy as the score looked.

The Volunteers kept things close for a while in the first half, before Georgia pulled away for its 24th win in the series.

After 50 total meetings, the Bulldogs finally lead the series at 24-23-2. Tennessee had a significant lead in the matchup, before Georgia won 8 of the last 10 meetings, including 3 in a row dating back to 2017.

Georgia now has a winning all-time record against every SEC East opponent, including Florida. If recent recruiting history is any indication, we don’t expect this stat to be changing anytime soon.

Though Saturday’s win was expected, it’s certainly nice to earn the extra bragging rights over Volunteer fans, who will still chirp back with “1980” when you talk to them.
