'History is Treasure' hunt launched by Falkirk Council in association with Young Scot

Falkirk’s Council’s Community Learning and Development initiative have launched 'History is Treasure' hunt in association with Young Scot.

Young people across the town are being asked to start the treasure hunt at Wyndford Lock in Banknock today, the most Westerly point in the trail.

Wyndford Lock is on the Forth and Clyde Canal and is a short walk away from the Antonine Wall and John Muir way, near the boundary line of Falkirk Council and North Lanarkshire Council.

To enter the competition, a selfie will need to be taken with the discovered treasure or at the area with the hashtags #Historyistreasure, #FalkirkLCD, #Getintosummer and #BecauseOfLCD.

Then it will need to be sent via DM to @FalkirkLCD or emailed on digitalpromotion4cld@falkirk.gov.uk with the name, age and contact phone no. or email of the young person who found it.

The grand prize is a year’s membership to Historic Scotland and others up for grabs include tickets to local interest points such as the Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel and Blackness Castle.
