Historic Sutton Coldfield office block sold

A historic Sutton Coldfield building converted into offices has been sold for £1.35 million.

Real estate investor and developer Urban Village Capital has completed the acquisition of The Moat House, in Lichfield Road, from Sutton Coldfield College.

The Moat House is a grade II-listed building which was designed and built in 1680 as a mansion house by William Wilson.

He was a builder, architect and student of Sir Christopher Wren and the property was used as a home for Wilson's new wife Jane Pudsey who had previously owned Langley Hall manor house in Sutton Coldfield.

Birmingham-based Urban Village Capital will take some of the office space at the property while the remaining accommodation will be available to rent.

Director Kevin Patrick Sharkey said: "The purchase of the Moat House represents a major investment in Sutton Coldfield by Urban Village Capital.

"It provides us with a unique, high-quality headquarters in a fantastic location.

"These are exciting times both for Sutton Coldfield and the wider Birmingham region and we will continue to take advantage of attractive investment opportunities."
