The owners of one of Nottingham's historic pubs has said it is closing for good.
An announcement on the BlueBell's Facebook page states: "We’re closing for good! After selling millions of Jagerpints we’re officially closing our doors!
"Our last night is Saturday 27th of July. Who’s coming down for one last night out at BlueBell?"
The old-time boozer, with a big blue bell outside, used to be a popular hangout for journalists when the Nottingham Post had offices in Forman Street.
In more recent years it reinvented itself as a student pub.
More than 1,500 people have commented on the post about the pub, which straddles Upper Parliament Street and Forman Street and is a listed building, dating back to the 19th century.
Revellers declared it the end of an era, reminiscing about the good times they'd had, the pre-drinks before Ocean and trays of 'jägerpints'.
Ryan Pollock said: "Is this some sort of sick joke?" while Danni Greening groaned: "No Yates and now no BlueBell, Ocean bar crawl is slowing fading away."
"Ahh no way. So many memories were made here," said Danielle Boston.
Grace Hockold posted broken-hearted emojis, adding: "Who would take jägerpints away from us?"
Charlotte Tideswell pleaded with her friends: "Please can we have one last boogie Saturday? My fave place! I’m so upset."
But not everyone was devasted. Sonya Winter commented: "About time, never liked it in there, lager was always warm."
And Jack Richard posted: "Probably because it lost 90% of its customers during the 'changes'."
When Nottinghamshire Live contacted the owners we were told: "I can't give any answers at the moment."
