Friday, June 7 is National Fish & Chip day, so we at LeedsLive decided to celebrate in style by trying out a historic Leeds chippy.
Having first opened its doors in the 1960s, residents of Chapel Allerton were concerned when Nash's Fish & Chips closed its doors last year.
Luckily for north Leeds fish & chips fans Nash's was just undergoing a change of ownership and a makeover, and late last year it re-opened with a slick new design.
The old-school chip shop charm is still there, yet Nash's also unveiled a new beer hall upstairs that allows customers to enjoy a relaxing drink alongside their favourite chippy tea.
We went to check out the new beer hall for ourselves, and it is fair to say we were very impressed.
The owners have done a good job of turning a relatively small space into a relaxing and welcoming spot, and most importantly, the fish and chips made the grade.
Many a chippy fall short by serving food that is too greasy, but the fish here was cooked perfectly, and the chips weren't half bad either.
We spent £24 overall for the meal and two drinks which was reasonable, and the portion sizes were huge so we certainly didn't have any complaints there.
I'd definitely recommend trying Nash's Beer Hall out, their twist on the traditional chippy is definitely something that we can get on-board with.
