The Assembly Rooms in Newcastle has been put back on the market a month after the Michaelides family sold the historic leisure venue.
Dating back to 1776, The Assembly Rooms has been one of the city’s top conference and banqueting venues for decades, but recently changed hands when its owners decided to retire.
The property was in September sold by the Michaelides family, which had owned the site since the 1970s, to Union Property Services. The deal took only a week to be agreed.
Union Property Services bought the venue but has already put The Assembly Rooms back on the market.
Located on Fenkle Street, the 32,389sq ft building is being made available to let or to buy. Potential tenants can take the property as a whole or it can be split between the ground and upper floors.
It comes with a 4am licence already in place, meaning that whoever operates the site will be able to continue to run it as a venue.
Union Property Services has instructed Sanderson Weatherall to market the site.
