Historic landmark The Rotunda transforms into Glasgow's newest wedding venue

One of Glasgow's most recognisable landmarks by the Clyde is set to be transformed into a one-of-a-kind venue for weddings, civil partnerships, and celebrations.

The North Rotunda, which has been a major feature on the banks of the River Clyde for over 130 years, has been extensive refurbished to create an exquisite new wedding venue overlooking the Finnieston Crane.

Dating back to 1890, the beautiful red brick stone building was originally used as the entrance to tunnels that allowed vehicles and pedestrians to cross the river, and is now home to Cranside Kitchen - a multi-faceted outdoor and indoor dining, drinking, and entertainment venue.

From May 13th, the team behind the venue confirmed it will also open as the spectacular North Rotunda Wedding and Events facility.

Located on Tunnel Street, the new venue can accommodate up to 140 seated guests or 240 standing reception.

The North Rotunda Wedding and Events Manager, Kaitlin Campbell said: "From intimate gatherings to large corporate parties, you'll find the expertise, technology, innovation, hospitality, and culinary skills you need to distinguish your event and bring people together.

"Whether it's a Wedding, an anniversary party, a graduation prom, funerals or a long-overdue family get-together, The North Rotunda will offer customers inspiring spaces that have been designed to deliver bespoke and memorable experiences".

Kaitlin added that 'The Finnieston Room' will be the venue's new flexible function room; suitable for any occasion, the expansive, circular space on the second floor of the building can accommodate up to 240 guests.

It can also be divided into smaller spaces and benefits from having its own private bar, dancefloor, dedicated entrance, and high-tech AV equipment.

She stated that 'The Dome' on the third floor will offer a spectacular glass see-through view of 'The Finnieston Room' and is ideal for drinks and canapes reception or wedding ceremony, with the room also offering a private kitchen and bar.

On hand to design the "wedding menu of dreams", the talented culinary team at The North Rotunda will tailor each bite to the customer's preferences.

A big part of the appeal for the venue will be the opportunity to enjoy plenty of iconic photo opportunities on the banks of the River Clyde, and overlooking the Finnieston Crane.
