HISAR: A former mechanic of a Hisar-based motor dealer committed suicide by consuming poison on Monday. The deceased mechanic has been identified as Dinesh, who used to work for a car dealership.
The police have registered a case against Tara Ford owner Pradeep Nehra and another person named Satendra for abetment to suicide, but the owner in turn has accused deputy inspector general (DIG) of police Balwan Singh Rana of falsely implicating him in the case for not paying a bribe of Rs 50 lakh. However, the DIG has denied all the allegations.
Hisar police said that HTM police station has registered a case on the complaint of Sunita Devi, wife of the deceased, against Pradeep Nehra and Satendra Snder sections 306 (abetment to suicide) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
'DIG demanded Rs 50 lakh'
Pradeep Nehra said he had lodged a case of theft against Dinesh, and had no contact with him for the last two years. "My name is not mentioned in Dinesh's suicide note, yet the police have registered a case against me under pressure from the DIG," he alleged.
Allegation baseless: DIG
DIG Balwan Singh Rana said that Pradeep Nehra has met him about 20 to 25 times but never complained about anyone demanding money. "I am on leave for two days and the police have registered a case against him on the basis of the complaint. Pradeep Nehra is making baseless allegations to put pressure on the investigating agency in this case," the DIG said.
