Rosie O'Donnell has claimed that Donald Trump "won't survive" until the 2028 presidential election.
The 64-year-old star has long traded barbs with the US President - even relocating to Ireland when Trump was elected for a second term in the White House in 2024 - and has suggested that she may not have to fulfil her promise not to return until the 2028 vote as she made the unsubstantiated claim that the President's cognitive "demise is visible".
During an appearance on CNN's The Lead with Jake Tapper, the host asked: "When you posted about leaving the US, you said you might return when, 'It's safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America.' Does that mean when Trump leaves office, presumably in January 2029, you'll come back - or it depends on who wins the election in 2028?"
Rosie replied: "Well, I don't think, Jake, that he is going to survive that long.
"All the medical doctors that you can get accurate opinions of what's happening to him because his demise is visible and apparent to everyone who is not wilfully blind."
The talk show host cited an incident earlier this week when Trump appeared to refer to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as "Putin" (after Russian despot Vladimir) at the NATO summit in Turkey.
O'Donnell said: "I mean, he called Zelensky, 'Putin'. He makes the kind of mistakes that you would forgive at Thanksgiving dinner, but you would never let grandpa cut the turkey because it might be dangerous because he doesn't know what he's saying."
Tapper then pointed out comments made by Trump this week in which called Iran the "Islamic Republic of Japan".
He said: "Don't forget to refer to the Islamic Republic of Japan, I think, as well."
Rosie replied: "Correct. I mean, we can sit here and name them. There are so many obvious understandings of his dementia and how it's taking over."
Following O'Donnell's decision to relocate to Ireland, Trump threatened to revoke the former moderator of The View's American citizenship in a Truth Social post last year.
The 80-year-old politician said: "Because of the fact that Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship.
"She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"
