Is that who we think it is?!
In a continuing diversion from the novels of Philip Pullman, His Dark Materials continued a plot line from the second novel The Subtle Knife which sees the villainous Lord Carlo Boreal (Ariyon Bakare) make nefarious plans in our own world, having crossed from the parallel Earth of Lyra's World.
In his latest visit, Boreal is shown images and given information about an important missing marine and explorer named Colonel John Parry, who crossed from our world into Lyra's.
However, this figure is also seen to be played by Fleabag's very own 'hot priest' actor, Andrew Scott.
Naturally, fans on social media were shocked to see the hot priest make an appearance in the series.
One BBC viewer on Twitter wrote: "Andrew Scott!!! Thank you BBC for these great casting choices #HisDarkMaterials "

One summed up the overall response of viewers: A nation screams "IS THAT ANDREW SCOTT!?" #HisDarkMaterials "
However, others were very aware of the divergence from the timeline of the novels.
One viewer wrote: "Andrew Scott??? Weird that they're showing John Parry already though. Lot of perplexing choices... #HisDarkMaterials "
But others were less bothered: "Don’t even care they’re messing with the timeline of the books because ANDREW SCOTT #HisDarkMaterials "
When will Scott make his first real appearance as Colonel John Parry?
