"His da sells Ye Olde Avon" - everyone is taking the p*** out of this reconstructed medieval Scottish man

Yesterday, the BBC revealed that scientists have managed to reconstruct the the face of a medieval man whose remains were found in Aberdeen - unearthed during excavation work at the Aberdeen Art Gallery redevelopment site.

Using cutting edge technology, the researchers AOC Archaology Group were able to work out what the 600-year-old individual would have looked like - they discovered that he was over 46, between 5ft 2in and 5ft 5in and suffered from extensive dental and joint disease, just a reminder that the past wasn't exactly a utopia.

They revealed a CGI picture of what he might have looked like....and that's when the jokes started to flood in. Mainly because, well. take a look for yourself:

Everyone was quick to pile on and make jokes about the 46-year-old's small features and rather uncanny resemblance to both Lord Grantham from Downton Abbey, not to mention political aide and chief Brexiteer Dominic Cummings:

Because we all need some light in these dark times, we decided to round up the funniest reactions to the reconstruction. Enjoy!

Sorry, scientists. And sorry, 600-year-old medieval man from Aberdeen. We're all horrible and should be ashamed of ourselves.
