Held in collaboration with Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok, this is the historic, first-ever solo exhibition in Thailand by Hiroshi Nagai, a legendary Japanese artist celebrated globally as a monumental cultural icon and revered as the visionary godfather of the "City Pop" aesthetic.
During the dazzling height of Japan's 1980s economic bubble era, Nagai masterfully crafted album cover designs that didn't simply complement the music. Through his brush, he forever intertwined his bright, breezy visual style with the soulful, synth-driven and futuristic sounds of Japanese City Pop, transforming vinyl records into timeless art pieces.
Nagai's universe offers a mesmerising escape into a dreamlike, timeless Americana reimagined through a sleek Japanese lens. His instantly recognisable landscapes -- filled with pristine sapphire-blue pools, swaying palm trees and mid-century architecture under cloudless skies --masterfully capture the essence of a glamorous tropical getaway.
