Hinterland, Poldark and The Crown star Richard Harrington took job as Deliveroo driver in lockdown

Actor Richard Harrington worked as a Deliveroo driver during the first coronavirus lockdown.

The Death in Paradise and Poldark star, like many others, had been left out of work due to the pandemic and picked up a job delivering takeaways across London as a result, North Wales Live reports.

Speaking to BBC Cymru Fyw, the 45-year-old actor said he was thankful for the job, which helped keep him fit.

"I got a job with Deliveroo, going around on my bike and delivering takeaways to people in London," Harrington said.

"I'm normally quite a fit person, but the lockdown had turned me into a lock-in, so I was thankful I was able to go on my bike every day because of the job."

The actor, whose latest series Fflam is now on S4C, says that the lack of "peer pressure" felt at pubs and restaurants has also been useful to him as he has been able to go without "a drink since Christmas."

Harrington says he has not been working on any new projects since finishing filming Fflam last December, but life is set to get busier for the Hinterland star and his wife, fellow actor Hannah Daniel, who are expecting their second child together.
